Punjab Sikhs hail Canadian Parliament for giving great honor to Shaheed Hardeep Singh Nijjar

CHANDIGARH Punjab based Sikh organization Dal Khalsa hailed the Canadian House of Commons for observing a moment of silence to commemorate the first anniversary of the assassination of pro-freedom Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

In a statement, the pro-freedom Sikh group said it’s a rare gesture as never before in the 40 yrs history of Khalistan struggle any Khalistani protagonist got such a respect and honour by the Parliament of his country.

The organization is of the strong opinion that India’s designated “terrorist” was respectable and honourable Sikh personality, who has earned international recognition.

Dal Khalsa urged Members of Sikh Parliament ie SGPC to convene its general house to honour Shaheed Nijjar on the lines of Canadian parliament.

Pertinently, Dal Khalsa organised a function in Amritsar on June 18 to mark the first death anniversary of Bhai Nijjar who was killed on June 18, 2023 on Canadian soil.

A resolution demanding Nijjar’s picture in Sikh Central Museum and formally according him the status of a quami shaheed (Martyr) by Sikh clergy was adopted in the function which was attended by Akal Takht Jathedar Gaini Raghbir Singh and SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami.

Significantly, the Jathedar in his address described Nijjar as a martyr of the Sikh cause. The congregation thanked Canadian govt for exposing Indian states complicity in Nijjar’s killing.

Dal Khalsa leader Kanwar Pal Singh commenting on the developments in Amritsar and Canada commemorating one year of Nijjar’s assassination and more specifically Jathedars address said one thing has been proved beyond doubt that India’s designated “terrorist” is a Sikh Nations respectful freedom fighter.
