My stand on Khalistan intact, no compromise on it: Bhai Amritpal Singh

CHANDIGARH The newly elected Khadoor Sahib MP and pro-freedom young Sikh leader Amritpal Singh has made it clear that his stand in favor of formation of Khalistan, a sovereign Sikh nation, is intact and he will not compromise on it.

On July 5, his mother Balwinder Kaur made a statement, that created confusion among the Sikh segments and gave the nationalist Indian mainstream media a chance to defame the Sikh struggle for their rights, though Singh’s mother made it clear in another video that men of Indian media put those words in her mouth.

Notably, Singh’s mother has no history of politics.

After this statement, the Waris Punjab De (WPD) chief issued a statement from the jail to clear the air.

Amritpal Singh said, “When I found today the statement made by Mata ji yesterday, I felt deeply sad. Even though I believe Mata Ji spoke unknowingly, such a statement should never come from my family or anyone who supports me”.

“Dreaming of Khalsa Raj is not just a right but a matter of immense pride. Countless Sikhs have laid down their lives for this dream, and we cannot even fathom stepping back from this sacred path. I have often declared from stages that if ever faced with choosing between the Panth and my family, I will always choose the Panth without hesitation”, he said.

Amritpal Singh who is lodged to distant Dibrugarh jail of Assam under notorious Indian law National Security Act (NSA), said, “The historical example of Baba Banda Singh Bahadar’s young companion stands as a testament to this principle. When the mother tried to save her son by denying his Sikh identity, the boy bravely proclaimed that if she claims I am not a Sikh, then she is not my mother. Though this example may seem harsh for this situation, it profoundly capture the essence of unwavering commitment”.

“I unequivocally warn my family that not even thinking about compromising on concept is Sikh State could be entertained. Such lapses must never occur in future while engaging with the Sangat”, he added.

It is noteworthy that Indian mainstream media propagated that people of Khadoor Sahib parliamentary segment did not elect Amritpal Singh for his mission for Khalistan, but for his anti-drug activism. The media tried to prove that the people did not demand Khalistan, despite the fact that the community members daily recite the slogan of Raj Krega Khalsa (Khalsa will rule) twice daily.
