‘PM Modi is highly mistaken, there’s no attack on Hindus Temple, media spreading a white lie’

AMRITSAR Punjab based Sikh organization Dal Khalsa on Tuesday reacted sharply on the alarming situation that led to scuffle between pro-Khalistani activists and pro-Indian activists at Canada’s Brampton town last night.

In a statement, the organization said, “The news about attack on Hindu Temple spread by mainstream media and endorsed by Indian leadership including Prime Minister Narendra Modi was completely untrue rather a white lie”.

“The fact is that Khalistani sympathisers and pro-Indian activists clashed with each other on street outside Temple where Indian consulate was holding a camp”, said party working president Paramjeet Singh Mand.

He said, “Instead of acknowledging the reality, Modi adopted tit-and-tat tactics to browbeat Canadian Govt led by Justin Trudeau, who has put the Modi govt on a dock by blaming Indian spy agency for assassinating Canadian Sikh Hardeep Singh Nijjar last year”.

Taking a jibe at Mr.Modi, party’s senior leader Kanwar Pal Singh said it’s astonishing that the PM, who kept mum on violence in Manipur for weeks and months, had reacted so swiftly on overseas minor clash.

Following Canadian Deputy Foreign Minister pointing finger towards India’s Home Minister Amit Shah for his involvement in the extrajudicial killings of Nijjar, deep within there’s was a sense of feeling that something “disturbing is in the offing”.

The last night clash was a culmination of a discord that was simmering since the last few years. After the incident, handful of right wing Hindu leaders in Brampton were heard of delivering provocative statements, which if not stopped firmly can turn situation bad to worse.

Appealing to Hindu brothers not to fall into a misleading and twisted information being spread by the Indian leaders and media, Kanwar Pal Singh said its a ploy by Modi Govt to pit Hindus against Sikhs especially in Canada and India to further polarise the society.

Cautioning both the sides, he said “we have witnessed in the 80’s and 90’s the same dirty tactics applied by India’s Deep State to create bad blood against each other. Sadly, both the communities in Punjab fell into the State’s trap and bad mouthed each other that resulted in bloodshed. “Let’s learn lessons from the bitter past and keep Govt and its agencies at bay”.
